Claire Williams desperate to fix troubles and setbacks

Claire Williams fully expects Williams to bounce back from their troubles experienced in early 2018. She believes anyone who disagrees with her is “very wrong.”

After the first five Grands Prix, Williams sit rock bottom of the contractors' championship having scored just four points. Sergey Sirotkin remains one of only two drivers not to score points heading into round six.

“When you are winning it’s fantastic, and when you are not then you have to re-organise and regroup, and it’s always about how you cope with these challenges,” she told Autosport.

“At the moment there is huge spirit within Williams to get this fixed.”

She then proceeded to answer the team's critics firmly and passionately denying Williams are an endangered team.

“Anyone who thinks that Williams is on its way out, or in a spiral of decline, or any other analogy you want to use, would be very wrong.

“You need to almost have - a dose of reality to set yourself a different course and move forward. And we will.”

It wasn’t long since Williams was competing at the top of the sport. They came third two years on the trot in 2014 and 2015. They last won a race in 2012.

The English team have bounced back before. During the 2013 season, they scored just 5 points. The following season they scored 320.
