Horner: Verstappen has learned from China

Christian Horner believes that Max Verstappen has taken lessons from the Chinese Grand Prix on board and won't let it affect his driving. The Red Bull driver was involved in a number of mistakes in Shanghai, culminating in contact with Sebastian Vettel which ultimately ruined both their races.

The Red Bull boss is confident that although it was an off-weekend for Verstappen and his 2018 season hasn't gotten off to the finest of starts, he won't let the weekend's events play on his mind moving forward and he has already taken on board the criticisms.

"I'm fully confident that he's a phenomenal talent," he said. "And he's smart enough to recognise areas that he needs to work on and I have no doubt that he will address it.

Horner maintained that despite his mistakes two weeks ago, the Dutchman won't have lost any of his instinct that put him on the map as a superb talent.

"I don't think so. You know, his talent is extremely obvious, his bravery and racing instinct is not in doubt.

"His judgement (in Shanghai), he was too impatient. He will have for sure learned from that. I have no doubt of that."
