Kevin Magnussen's performance during Saturday's sprint race caused many differing opinions, including McLaren team boss Andrea Stella. However, his driver, Lando Norris, disagrees with Stella, who called Magnussen's race unacceptable.

Kevin Magnussen received three penalty points on his licence after he received a 35-second penalty in the 19-lap sprint race. Teammate Piastri thought it was a dangerous situation. Norris thought it was okay: "It's kind of like Monaco if your teammate was ninth and you overtake and you do a Fernando a couple of years ago where you just blocked everyone. But you cut the course to overtake someone. You know you're going to get a penalty, but you save your teammate. They can box. You can do it. You know you're going to get the penalty, but you play a big team game. So, it depends on how far you just want to push against that. It's cruel and it's tough to take when you're the other driver. But, I think what he did was smart."

Norris had found black flag nonsense

Quite a few people were calling for a black flag for Magnussen. Nonsense according to Norris: "He did nothing to deserve to get black flagged. Like, everything he did was just to get the penalties that he got, which was just running off and just not giving the position back. So, we brought that up several times with the stewards." Norris could well follow the Dane's actions, he was out of the sprint race after just one corner. The Briton will start Sunday's main race in fifth place, the team has taken many updates to Miami and hopes to get a lot out of them.
