A few days after Fernando Alonso's contract extension, there is more good news for Aston Martin's F1 team. Aston Martin, in this case, the carmaker, will remain the main sponsor and namesake of Aston Martin F1 for longer. The two parties will remain linked until at least 2030.

The sponsorship deal is hardly a surprise. In fact, Lawrence Stroll has a stake in the car brand. The racing team, for which Lance Stroll (son of) competes alongside Alonso, are currently on the rise. The team, previously known as Racing Point, recently opened a new factory at Silverstone and aims to challenge the top teams in Formula 1.

Aston Martin ambitious with Honda

An important next step is to be taken in 2026. Honda will be Aston Martin's engine supplier from 2026 onwards. Currently, the Japanese engine suppliers are celebrating major sporting successes with Max Verstappen's Red Bull Racing. HRC top man Koji Watanabe has already revealed that the world title in 2026 is the goal of the new combination.

How much Aston Martin will pay the Aston Martin F1 team to remain the main sponsor has not been disclosed.
