Voorafgaand aan de start van de Grand Prix in Austin heeft Red Bull Racing besloten om de versnellingsbak te verwisselen van Max Verstappen. Hierdoor wordt de Nederlander automatisch vijf plaatsen teruggezet op de startgrid en zal hij moeten vertrekken vanaf de 18e positie.
