With the first IndyCar race of the season at Texas Motor Speedway last night, you can say that the racing season has finally really started. To be fair, it wasn't the most exciting race, but it this get close in the end.

Ganassi fastest by far

The race itself seemed to be a disappointing spectacle at first. The extra rubber that had been laid down on the outside of the corners for NASCAR turned out to be almost impassable terrain for the IndyCar drivers, which made it a train ride for a large part of the evening.

Still it became very exciting towards the end of the race. Ganassi turned out to have the dominant car and five times champion Scott Dixon was leading almost the entire way. However, team mate Felix Rosenqvist had to come further from behind and put Dixon under a lot of pressure in the closing stages. In the end the Swede himself made a mistake and had to go home empty-handed.
