EA Sports F1 has introduced some new features for the game F1 23 for the first time on the game developer's YouTube channel. Among these are some major tweaks.

New F1 game more realistic

These include adjustments to how the car feels to the player. This includes how the tyres behave. Here, help has been received from the official Formula 1 teams, so that the car's handling feels as realistic as possible. The engine's handling has also been tweaked, so that it behaves more like how you handle your gears and accelerator. The floor has also been tweaked so that driving over kerbstones also feels more realistic.

Virtual drivers playing on controller also get adjustments to the handling, using 'precision drive technology'. This makes controller driving more precise and will make it easier for players on controller to keep up with, or perhaps even beat, those with handlebars.

New in-game features

There is also an option in the new game for a 35% race distance. This makes tyre strategy still important, but makes it easier to do a quick race. This has previously been tested in the official F1 esports competition, and so now it is also being implemented for those who do the game for fun.

For years, fans have been asking a lot about a return of the red flag in the game. Now EA Sports has decided to add it in the new game. Weather conditions also play a role in this. Just like in real life, you will be able to change tyres during a stopped session.

Introduction and return of circuits

New tracks have been added to the calendar this year, and will also be added to the new game. For instance, this year you will be able to drive on the circuit in Qatar, or you can virtually race through the streets of Las Vegas with your friends. Old "fan favourites" will also be added to the game, namely the Portimao circuit, the Paul Ricard circuit and the Shanghai circuit.
