Christian Horner was sent to the stewards on Sunday after lashing out at the marshal in question who suddenly decided to wave double yellow flags in the closing stages of Q3. The Red Bull Racing team boss made excuses and got away with a warning. He also made a special promise to the FIA.

The extended stewards' statement reads that Horner will take part in a meeting where all stewards will be present. "Mr Horner offered to apologise to the offended commissioner and explained his behaviour to the media. He also offered to participate in the course that the FIA will hold in early February to prepare the international commissioners."

That offer was accepted unconditionally by the stewards on duty, they wrote in the statement. Horner commented in the media earlier on Sunday, "My frustration was not with the marshal, but more with the circumstances. Marshalls do a great job. If I've offended anyone, I apologise for that, but it's still frustrating to be in that situation."

Red Bull at the stewards

So the incident ended with a hiss for Horner. At Red Bull Racing they will no doubt be hoping that visits to the stewards in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi will be avoided as much as possible. The Austrians were involved three times in Qatar this weekend.
