Haas began a Formula One season in 2021 with two rookies. Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin did not disappoint Günther Steiner, but the team boss does expect more in 2022.

It was a remarkable move by the American Haas to bring in Schumacher and Mazepin. The team that was led by Steiner decided to leave 2021 behind and focus on 2022, thinks it has been an important learning year for its two drivers.

Points for Haas

''Of course we knew the car wouldn't be as strong, but in most cases they brought the car to the finish. They learned along the way and if the team asked if they could do something different, they adapted immediately. At the end, you have to be satisfied with what you've learned and take that to next season,'' Steiner said according to Formel1.de.

However, the bar is set a lot higher for 2022 than it was in 2021. ''We have to fight for points. The pressure will be higher next year, but in a different way. This year the challenge was to get used to F1 and learn everything. They have been able to do that for a year now, so they are ready to score points in Formula One,'' concludes the optimistic team boss.
