The weekend in Brazil was chaotic, but very interesting. Ferrari received the highest rating from our panel after the 19 Grand Prix this season, while Williams was completely out of the picture. Read here which ratings all the teams received from us.

Mercedes - 10

With his new engine, Lewis Hamilton was unstoppable. The German team are driving with a Monaco level rear wing, but despite this they are blazing fast on the straights. Toto Wolff's team have managed to unlock extra speed, just at the right time. Yet there was also criticism from the drivers about the strategists. Valtteri Bottas, for example, thought a one-stop would have made a one-two possible.

Red Bull Racing - 8

It was clear that Red Bull Racing were behind the times all weekend. They were simply too slow, and it's fair to say that Verstappen managed to hold off rival Hamilton for so long. Red Bull's pitstops were fine with times between 2.4 and 2.9 seconds. That it was not a double podium for the Milton Keynes based team was mainly due to an unfavourable virtual safety car.

Ferrari - 9.5

Little seen, but maximum performance with fifth and sixth place. Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished only just over ten seconds behind Perez, so speed was pretty much the order of the day. They are also the only team not to have been lapped. An excellent weekend for Ferrari, as they did very well in the battle for third place in the Constructors' Championship.

McLaren - 3.5

Andreas Seidl will have been hoping for more points. Only Lando Norris scored a single point. Daniel Ricciardo crashed out due to a chassis tear, but this weekend could be the race McLaren lose P3 in the teams' world championship. The difference to Ferrari has increased to 31.5 points.

AlphaTauri - 6

In Friday's qualifying, Pierre Gasly was blazing fast with a fourth time. However, a poor start in the sprint race resulted in a seventh starting position for the GP itself. The Frenchman actually drove a bit in no man's land on Sunday, as the Ferrari's race pace was too high. Gasly did finish ahead of both Alpines, which means the standings in the Constructors' Championship are now exactly the same.

Alpine - 7.5

A reasonable recovery from a poor qualifying session on Friday. Two cars in the points was some time ago for Alpine, so Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon can be satisfied. There is still a step to be made in the last three Grands Prix to take care of Gasly, the man in form.

Aston Martin - 4

No points for Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel on the Interlagos circuit. The latter came close with an eleventh place, but it was all to no avail. For Aston Martin the season is already over, because it is clear that they will finish seventh in the 2021 championship.

Alfa Romeo Racing - 7

For Alfa Romeo, it was another invisible weekend. Kimi Raikkonen's spin in the sprint race resulted in a final starting position and so points were out of sight from moment one. Antonio Giovinazzi did what he could, but performed even less than Räikkönen: P14 to P12.

Williams - 6

George Russell said it already this weekend in Brazil: Williams' form is gone. Just before and after the summer break the Grove formation was flourishing with good results in Hungary and Belgium, but there is little left of that good feeling. Both Williams-bodies were eliminated in Q1 and points were out of reach on Sunday as well.

Haas F1 - 6

Nikita Mazepin finished ahead of teammate Mick Schumacher, that's the most shocking thing we can say about Haas F1. Schumacher lost his front wing after a touch and Mazepin took advantage of that. It should come as no surprise that Haas F1 had little to contribute to the race.
