Kimi Raikkonen will have to start the Brazilian Grand Prix from the pitlane. The Finn already had bad luck in the sprint race, where he fell back to last place after making contact with teammate Antonio Giovinazzi. He eventually recovered to P18, but now has to start from the pitlane due to a change in the set-up of the car.

In the document of the FIA it can be read that Alfa Romeo has replaced parts of the rear wing for a new specification and as the cars have been in Parc Ferme since Friday due to the new format, it is a breach of the sporting regulations. Changes have also been made to the suspension of the car bearing start number seven.

No major problems for Alfa Romeo

As a result, Raikkonen will start from the pitlane today and Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher will both move up a place. Raikkonen's damage will be limited, because although he was the last one to return to the track after the spin in the sprint race, he was able to pass both Haas drivers fairly quickly.

Raikkonen is currently taking part in his last few races in Formula 1, before Valtteri Bottas takes his place at Alfa Romeo. Who will sit alongside the current Mercedes driver is unclear so far, but all indications are that there will be clarity before the F1 field gets ready in Qatar for the first Qatar Grand Prix next weekend.
