Formula 1 teams are gearing up for a new adventure in Brazil after a thrilling race in Mexico. As the end of the season approaches, many teams are dealing with performance pressure. What have been the highlights on the Brazilian circuit in recent years?

Verstappen completely unremarkable in 2017

The Brazilian Grand Prix provided little excitement in 2017. Sebastian Vettel took a four-car victory, while Max Verstappen failed to get further than a fifth finishing spot. A crash in qualifying meant Lewis Hamilton had to start the race at the very back, but the Brit eventually managed to finish fourth. Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen finished second and third respectively.

Breakdown for Verstappen during 2018 battle

Hamilton managed to take the win in 2018. However, the attention almost didn't go to the Mercedes driver, as Verstappen was the talk of the day. The Dutchman rode upfront for a long time, but then received a hard hit from straggler Esteban Ocon. It resulted in the Dutchman relinquishing his first place and reluctantly taking second.

Great battle between Verstappen and Hamilton in 2019

If this year's Grand Prix is anything like the one-two years ago, we can expect an exciting battle. Back then, Verstappen started from the front starting position and tried to defend it against the faster Hamilton. On two occasions the Brit managed to get past the Dutchman, but the Red Bull driver snatched the lead just as often. As a result, Verstappen was on the top step of the podium at the end of the race.
