Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas doesn't think his performance in Australia two weekends ago had much meaning, as the Finn is confident he can make up for his sub-par performance in the other twenty races of the season.

The Finn qualified fifteenth in Melbourne, after crashing his W09 in Q3 and needing a gearbox change, causing a five-place penalty. Bottas struggled to make up places though and only managed to finished eighth in his Mercedes, six places behind his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

"It was a bad weekend, that it," Bottas said on the matter.

"Sometimes you have bad races."

The Finn has been rumoured to be under pressure at Mercedes because of the lack of pressure he puts on his teammate Lewis Hamilton, but he doesn't think this one race was too indicative.

"There’s still 20 weekends to go, nothing to worry about.

"There’s no point in gathering pressure from one mistake in Qualifying."

Mistake or not, Bottas sure has a point to prove in Bahrain this weekend, with the media and fans doubting his abilities more and more.

Will Bottas bounce back this weekend and show the world what he's capable of? Or will we see another performance like the one in Melbourne? Let us know in the comments!
