With just a few races to go the qualifying duels between the teams are getting more and more serious. Max Verstappen has extended his lead over Sergio Perez, while Lewis Hamilton has lost out to Valtteri Bottas.

That is not the only remarkable thing about the current standings. Esteban Ocon has levelled up the scores at Alpine by setting a faster time than Fernando Alonso despite his grid penalty.

Daniel Ricciardo again went quicker than Lando Norris to close that gap down, although for Norris, setting a time was not that important as he too will receive a grid penalty on Sunday.

Another remarkable detail is that both Pierre Gasly and George Russell remain unbeaten. They both extended their lead to 18-0. Russell will have to start from behind his teammate though, as he faces a grid penalty as well.
