Valtteri Bottas will focus on winning the world title for Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton until the end of the season. Despite a departure to Alfa Romeo, he is not only thinking of himself.

According to Timo Glock Red Bull Racing was in the ideal position. While Mercedes has already said goodbye to Bottas, Red Bull Racing has managed to sign Sergio Perez. This means Perez will be fully committed to the team's interests, whereas Bottas may want to drive more for himself.

The ideal number two

The Finn himself is of the opinion that this is not the case at all. ''Realistically I am not a candidate for the title anymore and I am a team player. The fifth world title with the team is very important and if there is a way to help Lewis in his fight for the world title, I will do it. That's how I stand in it now,'' Bottas said according to Motorsport-Magazin.com.

For Red Bull Racing, however, this weekend will be trickier. Tens of thousands of fans will be in the stands hoping for a win from Sergio Perez. The Mexican didn't want to discuss the chances of having to fight Max Verstappen yet, but Daniel Ricciardo was already hoping for a win for the Mexican. However, with Verstappen on P2, you can wonder if Perez will be allowed to keep that first spot by Red Bull.
