Alpine internal unrest: Brivio wants to leave after false promises from Renault'.

In Formula 1 there is always one team boss at the helm, but Alpine was going to do it with two. Surprisingly, that does not seem to be working, so Alpine is in a mess and Davide Brivio would like to leave again.

New structure at Alpine

Brivio was brought to Alpine with a lot of fuss. After the departure of Cyril Abiteboul, things had to change at the French racing team. Renault was renamed in the blue colour of Alpine, Fernando Alonso was brought in as the frontrunner and with a three-year contract for Esteban Ocon, the French nationality was enough for a long-term contract.

The remarkable thing was that two team bosses were appointed. Marcin Budkowski was already with the team and was promoted to the leading position, but had to share it with Brivio. The Italian was moved from Suzuki's MotoGP team. Brivio had played a key role in the title for that team, but what was his link to F1?

False promises by Alpine

Brivio must be wondering about that too now, because while it was previously announced that he might want to return to MotoGP, now he knows why. Speedweek.com now also reports why. Brivio would be dissatisfied with Alpine and especially with the false promises of the CEO of Renault, Luca de Meo. According to reports, Brivio assumed that he would become the team boss at Alpine.

He didn't get that role, however. Along with Budkowski, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Alpine, but they must answer to Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi. He in turn is responsible to the CEO of Renault.

Alpine had great plans for the future in F1, but the fact that it all started to rumble so early says it all. Daniel Ricciardo ran away as soon as he could and if the performance in 2022 is disappointing also Alonso will be heard talking about the poor performance of the car. A team with so many internal problems can hardly build a perfect car for 2022.
