Christian Horner is surprised by the media attention Adrian Newey has received following his cycling accident. According to the Red Bull Racing team boss, it was not as serious as media reports suggested.

On Motorsport-Total.com Horner tells us that the extent of the accident that befell Newey while cycling in Croatia during the summer break was half as bad compared to media reports.

"Things like that are sometimes over-reported," Horner explains. "It's true that he had an accident on his holiday. Fortunately, he's back to full fitness - for a few weeks now. He was already on-site in Istanbul and he's in good shape."

Newey back to his old self

Helmut Marko had previously said that Newey had had a violent accident and suffered "broken bones and head injuries". As a result, he had to take a break. Bernie Ecclestone helped him to get the necessary medical treatment in Croatia and to organise his trip to England. Newey seems to be back to normal, as in a meeting the team analysed the problems with the Red Bull with positive effect.
