Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez got acquainted with the new Formula 1 cars of 2022 this week. Where both drivers weren't negative about the new cars, they noticed a clear change, especially on speed.

Formula 1 has been trying for years to add excitement to the sport. As a result, the cars will be slower next season and drivers will be able to get closer to each other more easily, which should allow more teams to fight for the world title.

As the current season slowly draws to a close, the teams behind the scenes are already working hard on 2022. In the simulator, drivers can get a taste of what's in store for them next season. This is also the case with Red Bull Racing, where both Pérez and Verstappen are still keeping an open mind.

"It’s been alright, just a little bit slower," Verstappen stated in an interview with Autosport.com. "But at the end of the day we first need to see the real car on the track and then we will adjust the simulator around it. At the moment everything is still a bit of guessing work, so I don’t pay too much attention to it to be honest."
