Formula 2 to make debut at Zandvoort and Imola in 2022
Next year, the Dutch Grand Prix will not only host Formula 1 but also F2 and F3. Liberty Media announced this on Friday evening during the presentation of the calendars for 2022.
In 2021, Formula 2 did not travel to the DutchGP. This was due to an experiment by the FIA to have F2 race less Grands Prix to save costs because of the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, three races were held each weekend, but this will also disappear in 2022.
This season, there are only eight Formula 2 weekends (24 races in total), but next year there will be 14 weekends (28 races in total). The Formula 2 class will make its debut in 2022 at Zandvoort and Imola.
