The Turkish Grand Prix was not a very wet race, but also not a dry one. All drivers started and finished on the intermediate tyres. Valtteri Bottas eventually took the win and Red Bull Racing got a double podium with Max Verstappen on P2 and Sergio Perez on P3.

Who is the GPblog Driver of the Day?

Carlos Sainz won Formula 1's Driver of the Day award with 25 percent of the votes from global viewers. The Ferrari driver started from the back of the grid and managed to fight his way back to eighth place. Sainz made several nice overtakes.

Bottas won the race in dominant fashion. Verstappen did not come close to overtaking and the Finn crossed the finish line with a lead of almost fifteen seconds. It was a flawless race by Bottas, who had to wait more than a year for his ninth victory. Lewis Hamilton ended the race in P5 after a late pitstop caused problems for the world champion.

Leclerc and Red Bull

Charles Leclerc doesn't get a bad result on P4 for Ferrari, but for a while it looked like he could finish on the podium. Of course, Verstappen can't be forgotten either, who also drove a flawless race and got the best out of the car. Teammate Perez moved up from P7 to P3 to complete the double podium for Red Bull, taking second place in F1's Driver of the Day poll. It earns needed points in the constructors' championship.
