Haas driver Mick Schumacher is ready for the new experience of driving at Istanbul Park this weekend. The German driver doesn't know the circuit yet, but he has already figured out what his goal will be at the Turkish Grand Prix.

The 2020 Formula 2 champion has never been to this track himself which means his preparation will mostly consist of video study. Luckily, Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen already collected a lot of data last year so Schumacher can fully focus on this weekend.

In Turkey, he will try to get closer to his opponents and maybe even fight with them. For him, the big target is to get to Q2 again in qualifying and maybe even score some points for the championship.

"I'm going to make the most of it and then hope that's enough to get closer to our opponents and maybe even fight with them," the 22-year-old driver told Speedweek.

The Ferrari junior is ready for these challenges, the new circuit being one of them. "It has been useful to know the European circuits, but recently it has also been unusually cold - like in Belgium or Russia. I'm looking forward to the races overseas," said Schumacher.

Back in the motorhome

Schumacher won't just be staying in hotels during the upcoming race weekends. He admits to having a ranch in Texas, but that he will also be staying in the motorhome more often which he already travelled to kart races with. For him, that's a piece of home he can take with him.

"I've had the same camper in Europe since 2013. I also just feel comfortable in it. It even has a little room where I can train. It makes me feel good to be able to sleep in my own bed, and the camper is my own bed for me."
