It was in the air for a long time, but Thursday afternoon it finally came out: the Qatar Grand Prix will replace Australia this season. Stefano Domenicali expects a lot of spectacle on the track, he told Motorsport.com.

According to the Formula 1 boss, spectators can expect a lot from the race. "The structure is almost ready. There are only a few adjustments to be made. The race will be run at night. I am sure it will be an unpredictable race because Formula 1 is coming to Losail for the first time and no car has ever driven there and no tyre tests have ever been held. I expect there to be a lot of action on the track."

"We have shown that we know how to react to difficulties. With 22 races on the calendar this year, we have shown how strong the system is and how good the relationships we have built around the world are. We move thousands of people, talk to governments and write safety protocols. We have an exceptional ability to adapt to change."

Final phase of the Formula One season

After the Qatar GP, only the races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi will follow. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will have to decide which driver will take the world title this season.
