Carlos Sainz could be incredibly sour after McLaren's victory in Italy, but he's certainly not. The Spaniard has seen all his former teams win races but is still without a win himself.

Sainz sees gap widening

Sainz is still only 27, but already has a long list of teams behind his name in Formula One. He made his debut in the sport in 2015 with Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri), after which he was given opportunities with Renault, McLaren and now Ferrari. In the battle with McLaren, it was a big blow that his old team managed to grab a P1 and P2 at Monza.

''For us, it was obviously a terrible result because McLaren took every possible point in Monza. They maximised their chances and made it a lot harder for us. They have a fast car and it will be difficult to beat them,'' said the Spaniard at Motorsport.com.

Wins for old teams

From Sainz, you could understand some frustration by now. At Red Bull Racing he wasn't given the chance to prove himself at first, but then he may have left his old teams at the wrong time. For example, AlphaTauri in with Pierre Gasly already won a race, and Alpine and McLaren also won a race this year.

''To be honest, I couldn't care less about it. First of all, because of the circumstances under which the races were won, they never fought consistently for wins and championships. My deal with Ferrari is focused on the future. It's the best possible place to be. It's obviously nice to see Renault and McLaren win, but we've been close a few times too'', the Ferrari driver concludes.
