Many people had already written him off, but during the Italian Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo proved that he is still there when he needs to be. For the first time since 2012, McLaren was on the top step of the podium again, and the last time we saw the Australian do his characteristic 'shoey' was also quite some time ago. Team mate Lando Norris crossed the finish line in second place to complete the party.

"A week after Monza it still feels good to be on the top step of the podium again. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect way to end a triple race. It was great to be up front and have the chance to fight for the win. The one-two finish is the result of hard work by the whole team and by myself," Ricciardo told F1.com.

Although it probably still smells of champagne at the Woking factory, the sights are fully set on the upcoming race in Sochi. "I've definitely taken the time to enjoy the moment, but now it's time to focus on Russia. I want to build on my performance in Monza this weekend and will try to score important points to stay in contention with our rivals," said Ricciardo. "Sochi can be a tricky circuit to make a move on, so it's important to get the most out of qualifying to give us the best chance of scoring points on Sunday."

Lando Norris, who also achieved his personal best result to date in F1 with a second place, is also down-to-earth in his outlook: "We're not getting carried away because we know it won't be like this every weekend. We have to keep putting ourselves in the best possible position and get the most out of the car, the pit stops, the strategy and everything in between."
