Max Verstappen was penalised after the Italian Grand Prix for his collision with Lewis Hamilton. The Dutchman was blamed by the stewards for the incident and has to give up three places at the start in a fortnight's time in Russia.

Christiaan Horner was critical of Verstappen's penalty afterwards. It annoyed Christijan Albers who compared the Red Bull Racing team boss to Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff in the De Telegraaf podcast"I am not a fan of Wolff, but I do think he is fifty to one hundred percent more professional than Christian Horner. Especially how he expresses himself. He gives the reaction that the stewards have to make the decision and that there is no point. Wolff does learn from the situations that have happened before and he anticipates on that."

Understanding of Verstappen's action

Albers has a different opinion about the incident itself. The former driver understood that Verstappen was driving so close to his predecessor after Hamilton's pitstop, so the moment didn't exactly come as a surprise to him.

"I think I would have done the same. The only difference was that you saw that in turn two there was just no room left, so I might have put the car straight there. Only it's all so easy to talk afterward because it's all snapshots you have to make in a split second."
