Carlos Sainz seems to be able to participate in the sprint race of the Italian Grand Prix after his crash. His car needs to be repaired in time though. For Charles Leclerc it is not really clear yet.

F1 journalist Tobi Grüner is reporting that Leclerc has been examined by the FIA. "He was checked at the medical centre, but now he is back in the garage," he said. The exact results of the examination are not yet available. He is reported to have suffered from nausea and headaches. Rumours are that Leclerc will drive as normal, but there is no definitive statement yet.

No injuries Sainz

Carlos Sainz has been declared fit by the International Motorsport Federation, Sky Italia reports. In the second free practice session, the Spaniard suffered a serious blow after he crashed with his Ferrari. It is unclear whether his SF21 can be repaired in time by the Italian team's engineers.

Sainz and Leclerc will start from seventh and eighth respectively in the sprint race on Saturday afternoon. They will be hoping to move up a little further as both McLarens are ahead of them on the grid. Ferrari is in a fierce battle with McLaren for third place in the World Constructors' Championship. The difference is currently 11,5 points in favour of the Italians.

Update | Ferrari gives a definitive answer

Mattia Binotto has reported that Charles Leclerc will get into the car after not feeling well during FP2. The team boss has also said that Sainz's car is ready. Ferrari will therefore start with both cars with the confidential drivers in them.
