The Dutch Grand Prix can clearly be called a great success. Not only in the Netherlands people were happy after the victory of Max Verstappen, but Stefano Domenicali also calls the race in Zandvoort a milestone for Formula 1.

We had to wait a long time for it, but after 36 years a huge party was organised in Zandvoort. For three days it almost looked like a festival during the Grand Prix weekend in Zandvoort, and that is exactly what F1 had in mind. Zandvoort showed the rest of the world how it should be done.

Zandvoort as benchmark

''This was a new milestone in the history of Formula 1. The energy and passion we have seen in Zandvoort gives the sport a boost. This is what we want to show the world. You have shown your calling card in the Netherlands,'' said Domenicali in conversation with De Telegraaf.

''Since I started I've always said: it's about the drivers. People want to recognise themselves in their heroes. The way they present themselves is very important. We need personalities like that. And it's clear what Max Verstappen unleashes in the Netherlands,'' concludes the CEO of Formula 1.
