Sergio Perez received the award for Driver of the Day for his performance at the Dutch Grand Prix, but Nico Rosberg is critical of the Red Bull Racing driver. According to the German, 'Checo' really needs to make some steps.

In qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix, Perez was already eliminated in Q1, and that made his race a lot harder. With a new engine, the Mexican had to fight his way back to the front of the grid, eventually finishing in P8. That could have been more, had he not ruined his set of hard tyres early in the race by braking.

Perez needs to drive faster on Saturday

''It was a difficult weekend for Sergio, but he showed a good race. However, he had his lock-up early in the race which meant he had to go to the pits. This cost him a lot of time and was a big mistake. However, after that he showed some nice overtaking and also had good pace,'' Nico Rosberg told Sky Sports.

''It was ok how he finished the weekend, but his teammate Max Verstappen has the fastest car that weekend and dominates the race. So Sergio really needs to improve for the next race. We know he is strong in the race, but we should expect more from him because he has to support Max in the fight for the world title'', Rosberg concluded.
