The Grand Prix weekend in Zandvoort was a special experience for everyone. Also for Robert Doornbos, who was there when Max Verstappen won in his own country and did the interviews after the race.

On the talk show Humberto on RTL, the Dutch analyst once again talked about his experiences in Zandvoort. He thought it was special to be in the paddock and to be so close to the action.

"Normally everything is from the studio in Hilversum. Now we were on location. You have to be there, of course. That was a very good move. You are in the paddock, where everyone is sitting. You could have Christian Horner and Toto Wolff next to you and talk to them. You're really part of the show."

For him, it was especially special that the event was not necessarily organised by the government as with most races, but by sponsors and true fans of racing.

"This whole weekend is going to stay with me. I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight. So much adrenaline goes through your body. Prince Bernard, for example, really had tears. All those people and companies, including Jumbo, support this Grand Prix. In other countries it is all supported by the government. Not here. Everyone put their shoulders to the wheel to get Verstappen here."

Next year the race will again be held at Zandvoort. The organisers then hope to welcome Formula 1 at 100% capacity, i.e. 105,000 people a day.
