The first practice session had a lenghty 30 minute red flag period and then two red flags dropped in the second free practice session. This means drivers and teams missed out on important data for the coming weekend in the Netherlands.

In 2021, all the talk has been about Red Bull and Mercedes. Particularly with Lewis Hamilton's duel with Max Verstappen. But at a number of circuits, Ferrari have managed to get themselves in the mix. The Circuit Zandvoort appears to be another one of those, though Red Bull boss Christian Horner expects more from his own team.

"Ferrari looked quick with both cars up there. We didn't get that first lap so we're not quite sure what our ultimate pace is. The car was happier on the long run, Max was putting in good times and Sergio pace increased. We've just got some tidying up to do on single lap pace," Horner told Sky Sports.

"It's a good circuit. Traffic will be a premium, it's a short lap with a lot of corners."
