Sergio Perez seemed to be ruled out of the Belgian Grand Prix after his crash on the lap to the grid. However, the long stoppage seems to have worked worked in the favour of Red Bull Racing's mechanics. Red Bull have already checked with the FIA if they can still send the Mexican onto the track and Christian Horner gives additional explanation on the situation to Sky Sports.

"We believe in the fact that he had no outside help. The mechanics are working very hard right now and we're doing everything we can. It could just be that we are here for another hour. I don't think the grip is the problem, it's the visibility from marshal point to marshal point," Horner explained.

Repairs normally three hours long

The possibility of finishing the race on Monday has also been suggested, although at Red Bull they are not yet giving it any consideration."I haven't even thought about that yet. I'm just going to let them get on with it (before I tell them). Looking at the grip it's good. The problem is the visibility and that only the leading car can see anything."

For Horner, it is to be hoped that the under-determination will last for a while so that Perez has a better chance of still competing."We are a team and we are going to try. The mechanics will see if they can work a miracle. This normally takes three hours because it's both sides at the front, but if anyone can do it, it's our guys," Horner concluded.
