Adrian Newey has been working for the Red Bull Racing team since 2005 and it seems that the era is not over yet. Newey feels at home with the Austrian team and is not thinking of quitting yet.

"I ask myself that from time to time," Newey told Auto, Motor und Sport. The top designer had actually expected to have said goodbye to Formula 1 by now. "If you had asked me ten or fifteen years ago if I would still be there, I would have said no. Now I am still there. I don't spend as many hours in the office as I used to and I make sure that my life outside of Formula 1 is not short of things to do."

What's more, the 62-year-old Briton isn't just working on the design of the new Red Bull cars, he also worked on the Aston Martin Valkyrie project in recent years, for example. "There are a few other things in the pipeline that I can't talk about yet. I love designing things and working with my colleagues and the drivers on a car. And I've been fortunate in my career to design a wide variety of cars, spanning many eras," he is grateful.

Newey remains active for the time being

Had Newey never wanted to step up. The answer is no because he likes being able to do his thing in the lee. "I've always stayed true to that passion. I never had any interest in becoming a team boss or a manager," said Newey, who has no intention of stopping for the time being."Yes, I've been around for a long time, but I also know I'd be bored if I just sat at home gardening all day. I need something to stimulate me."
