Dennis Hauger is currently the dominant leader in the Formula 3 and has managed to recover from a somewhat less successful 2020. The expectations were high last season and he could not live up to them. However, it looks set to be so much different in 2021, as he seems well on his way to compete in Formula 2 next year.

"We'll see. If I were to win the championship, of course that would be the most logical next step, but you have to put everything in order before you can talk about it," Hauger told Motorsport.com about a possible promotion to Formula 2.

The current season has been a lot more prosperous than the previous one, the Norwegian driver is honest. In 2020, Hauger was only 17th in Formula 3 with just 14 points. "It was clear that last year was very tough and everyone expected much more, including me, but I never gave up. This year, however, Helmut is very happy with the work I am doing, but I am aware that things can change in the blink of an eye and I want to stay focused and keep pushing," he states.

Marko immediately impressed

Hauger also talked about how he got into Red Bull and how contact with Helmut Marko was established a few years ago. "I got a call from Helmut when I was still karting. After a while I was invited to do a simulator test which made a big impression on them. From there, my adventure with Red Bull began."
