Helmut Marko and team owner Dietrich Mateschitz are two of the older people in Formula 1, at 78 and 77 years of age respectively. However, Christian Horner reveals that the two top men have no intention of saying goodbye to the premier class of motor sport for the time being.

"They are in good shape and they are still very motivated when it comes to Formula 1," Horner is quoted as saying by Motorsport-Total.com. The team boss of the Milton Keynes-based formation sees Red Bull continue to invest in one of the most expensive sports in the world every year.

Red Bull invests heavily

The Austrian canning giant runs two teams in Formula 1 (Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri) and, as in 2020, organised two Grands Prix again this year. Moreover, Red Bull will now also produce its own engine after the departure of current manufacturer Honda.

"That's a huge investment, which some would call foolish," Horner said of the Powertrains engine project. "That's Red Bull - daring to do what others think is impossible and become an independent engine manufacturer." An entirely new factory is currently being built for Red Bull where they can start developing an engine from 2022.
