Ferrari experienced a dramatic season in 2020 and seemed to continue this line into the new year, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Italian racing team is in third place in the constructors' championship and is doing a good job.

Charles Leclerc has been doing well since the start of the season with two fourth and two sixth places in the first four races. Carlos Sainz had to get used to his new car, but has now scored more points than his teammate. It gives Ferrari hope for the coming months.

Binotto gives Ferrari a pass

Team boss Mattia Binotto told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he is relieved that the Italians are performing well again and gave his team a pass for the points gained. "The season in 2020 was bad, the worst since 1980, with really a slow car on the straights. However, so far the grade has to be considered sufficient."

It was not easy for Ferrari to work on the new car. "The regulations imposed so many restrictions that we had to keep the chassis and front suspension the same as last year. The number of hours for aerodynamic development was also limited. We did well and collected more than twice as many points after eleven races."
