Red Bull Racing and Mercedes are fighting for the world title this season. Where the battle between the two teams was sporting in the first months, that changed in the last two races before the summer break. Nevertheless, Toto Wolff is looking forward to the second half of the year.

At Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen collided hard and the Dutchman was forced to retire. Two weeks later at Red Bull both Sergio Pérez and Verstappen were victims of a mistake by Valtteri Bottas. It didn't exactly improve relations between Mercedes and Red Bull.

In the coming weeks the teams will have a break because of the hiatus of the Formula 1 season. Wolff thinks it's good to keep this break in. "Personally I feel the shutdown is a really important period, because it allows you to really recharge your battery before starting the second half of the season with extensive travel car build and development for next year," he told on the official YouTube page of Mercedes.

Verstappen versus Hamilton

Hamilton had been many points behind Verstappen in recent months, but managed to turn this around during the race in Hungary. For now, he is eight points ahead of his rival, but with the Grands Prix of Belgium and the Netherlands on the programme, this could soon change.
