The last race weekend before the summer break is upon us. It is the last chance before the summer break for Honda and Max Verstappen to increase their lead from the previous weekend.

Toyoharu Tanabe looks ahead to the weekend in Hungary on behalf of Honda in a PRESS RELEASE ahead of the weekend in Hungary and also knows that the team hasn't had its best race weekend behind them. Time for sporting revenge then. "The last race at Silverstone was very disappointing, especially when Max crashed out on the opening lap after a collision. Overall, it was Honda's worst race of the year so far, in terms of points scored." This is therefore the reason Honda is looking forward to the weekend in Hungary.

"We now move on to Hungary, the midpoint of the season. After four races at relatively fast circuits in France, Austria and England, we now come to the Hungaroring. It's a very different, much slower and technical type of circuit with only one short straight and many slow corners, making overtaking difficult and qualifying position very important."

Cooling important during weekend in Hungary according to Honda

For that it is usually hot and so cooling can play a big part in the performance of the team and the drivers, there is no doubt. The question is how all drivers and teams will deal with this and who will find the best solution. Honda knows this too.

"We are used to it being very hot here and combined with the fact that the car is running at relatively low speed, it is a feature of this event that cooling is an important factor we have to take into account when optimising our set-up. We want to finish the first half of the year before the summer break with a good race result for all four of our drivers and we've been working hard since Silverstone to prepare for that."

Red Bull, Honda and Verstappen will go into the Hungarian Grand Prix looking to end the so successful first half of the season on a positive note as well and go into the summer break with a lead in both championships.
