Kimi Raikkonen is not currently enjoying the best period of his multi-faceted and especially long motorsport career. The (currently) only 40-year-old on the grid (Alonso turns 40 this weekend in Hungary) had a weird crash with former teammate Sebastian Vettel in Austria that earned him a 20-second penalty, and the Finn got tangled up in problems at Silverstone as well, this time with Red Bull Racing's Sergio Perez.

Fighting for points

Nevertheless, Raikkonen takes confidence from the weekend at Silverstone which, apart from his incident with Perez, was hopeful. The Finn drove around for quite some time with the prospect of points. "I was tenth when I came together with Pérez and I think we could have fought for that point until the end of the race," Kimi told Speedweek.com.

"We haven't won anything, but we can hope to take this form to Hungary, a circuit where we can do well. As always, we expect it to be close on both Saturday and Sunday, but if we do our job well we can get a good result," believes the man who managed to become World Champion in 2007.

Frédéric Vasseur

Alfa Romeo team principal Frédéric Vasseur also sees opportunities on Hungary's high downforce circuit: "We just need to do the right things to take the final step. We spent most of the last race in the points. And at Silverstone Circuit, a circuit not really suited to our car, we were in tenth place up to a few laps from the end. So we hope to show even more of our potential at a circuit that is very different from the traditional British circuit."
