Red Bull Racing is having its best season in years. At the start of the season, the Austrian team built a car that can compete with Mercedes. The result is that Max Verstappen is currently top of the world championship standings.

The performances would never have taken place without Dietrich Mateschitz and Helmut Marko who play a crucial role within the team. Both men are already a bit older, but Christian Horner doesn't expect them to stop soon. "They are in good shape, they remain fully committed to Formula 1," he explained to Motorsport.com. "Red Bull Racing's commitment to Formula One is clear, we have two Formula One teams, we have the Austrian Grand Prix, we have the Styrian Grand Prix and we have the big investment we are making now, which many would say is nonsense because we want to build our own engine."

Horner, however, disagrees. "That's what Red Bull embodies. To do what some people think is impossible, which is to become an independent engine manufacturer, and to do that without Dietrich and Helmut... So it's great to see that they have a vision and a passion for Formula One."

Battle in world championship

Lewis Hamilton is currently eight points behind Verstappen. Next weekend is the last race before the summer break. The Formula 1 teams will then travel to Hungary.
