After his poor E-Prix in London, Dutch driver Robin Frijns was very critical about the five seconds time penalty he was given for his part in a collision with Joel Eriksson.

"It's shocking," Frijns is quoted as saying by Autosport.com. "You feel like you have a decent car; you can do something, you're faster than the guys in front of you. But then they defend like it's the last round of the world championship while they're 3% short of energy."

In turn eleven Frijns tried to overtake his competitor via the outside. According to the driver, a touch between the two had previously forced the steering wheel out of his hands, inadvertently pushing Eriksson into the wall. Nevertheless, Frijns is particularly angry about Eriksson's unnecessarily aggressive defending.

Frijns continued: "What's the point of doing that? It's absolutely ridiculous, really bad. He throws the door shut while I had already started the action."

Disagreeing with FIA

Frijns then turned his attention to the five-second time penalty, the one that made his race at the back of midfield even more difficult. "I'll get the penalty if he drives like that. I'm sorry, but I don't agree. What do you want me to do? I was trying to get out from under it, and he drives me wide."

"He steered into me. He pushed me wide again to show something. I don't know what he wanted to show. We weren't in the points anyway, so it was quite stupid and optimistic on his part to take such a risk," said Frijns.
