Nico Rosberg labels the clash between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the first round of the British Grand Prix as a racing incident. The former Formula One world champion believes that these things happen when you fight for victories. Rosberg should know, as he flew off the track with Hamilton at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, for example.

"It was a racing incident," judges in an interview with Express Sport"I mean everybody is going to the limits, it's normal when you're fighting for a race win at the Silverstone Grand Prix and you're fighting for a championship and everything is so closely fought, and you know the importance of becoming out of the first lap first."

Equal standing in World Cup during summer break?

The 36-year-old German thinks it's great to see that it's so exciting in the world championship. Verstappen is currently on 185 points, while Hamilton has collected 177 after ten Grands Prix. If Hamilton takes the lion's share (including fastest lap) next weekend in Hungary and Verstappen comes second, the two men will both have 203 points at the start of the summer break.

Rosberg can't wait for the drivers from Mercedes and Red Bull respectively to go up against it again. "It leaves them in a great intense battle. I can't wait to switch on the TV for the next instalment. Because definitely has is ramped up the intensity," he is referring to the incident from the British GP.
