Lando Norris was mugged at the European Championship final between England and Italy last Sunday. The driver is traumatised and has spoken widely to McLaren CEO Zak Brown following the robbery.

Brown shared own story

"Spoke with him about it a lot," says Brown in conversation with Sky Sports. "I've been mugged three times actually, in Los Angeles when I was younger, so I shared my story."

Norris was mugged during the European Championship final at Wembley with his watch being ripped off his wrist. "It's easy to feel responsible when you're the victim, if that makes sense, you've got a nice watch on. The reality is he did everything he was supposed to do," Brown continued.

Chaos around Wembley

Brown, incidentally, is not happy with how the chaotic final went. "Got some bad people in the world. That was not a well-executed event, I went, and that just wasn't acceptable behaviour." A lot of chaos ensued around the stadium. Fans without tickets stormed the stadium to get a glimpse of the game. Other fans tried to help the stewards by pushing the fans without tickets outside again.

"So that's going to need to be fixed because you shouldn't ever feel in danger going to a big sporting event, you'd never see that in Formula 1. But he's OK. A bit traumatised as you'd expect. He's healthy and he'll be fine," Brown concluded.
