Zak Brown was not happy with the penalties that were handed out during the Austrian Grand Prix. According to him drivers almost have to pull over and let rivals pass to avoid a penalty.

After McLaren driver Lando Norris was given a penalty for pushing Sergio Perez into the gravel outside the track, CEO Brown fears there will be no room left for wheel-to-wheel battles. Norris was given a five-second penalty. Later in the race, Perez in turn received a five-second penalty twice for similar incidents in the fight with Charles Leclerc.

Brown very dissatisfied

"Now they've set a precedent," Brown says at the Italian branch of Motorsport.com. "All you have to do is come from the flank and they have to give way to you. And I think it's going to be very difficult to race that way."

Brown still cannot agree with the stewards' decision to give Norris a five-second penalty. "I thought it was nonsense. I've been in racing for about 35 years and when you attack on the outside, especially in the first few laps, I think the person attacking is aware of the risks."
