Max Verstappen has grabbed pole position for the third week in a row, yet the Dutchman is not satisfied. He reckons that's because of his father's upbringing.

Just like last week, Max Verstappen was dominant at the Red Bull Ring and once again put pole position to his name. "To be on pole is satisfying here again," the Dutchman told Sky Sports F1 afterwards.

The only person who could come close during qualifying was Lando Norris, who was just not fast enough in the end to claim pole position himself. Verstappen just doesn't think McLaren have closed the gap on Red Bull. "I think Lando did a great lap and I just had a very bad Q3, so that's why I think the gap is so small," he said.

"Of course I'm not happy with myself, but I have to try to be a bit happier. Otherwise, I sound so grumpy haha. Of course, I'm still first, but I want it to be perfect and it wasn't today. That's probably because of how I was raised by my dad. It's never perfect," Verstappen shared with a big smile.

On the way to the next victory

Despite his own disappointment, Verstappen is satisfied with how the team is doing in Austria. "Of course it's been different in the past, I'm now very happy with the car we have. The whole package. The car and the engine together. It's been working brilliantly the last few races, so we just need to keep it up. I'm confident about tomorrow. Hopefully as a team, with Checo in third, we can make it a nice race," concludes the Dutchman.
