Honda happy: 'Their car is showing good performance'

Red Bull Racing has benefited greatly from the Honda engine this season. The team can compete with Mercedes in 2021 and has a chance of winning the world championship. AlphaTauri can also be satisfied.

The team of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda is making an excellent impression on the track this season. Where the Frenchman is currently eighth in the world championship with 37 points, Tsunoda has only scored 9 points so far. However, this is more down to the Japanese driver himself, who in his first season in Formula 1 clearly has to get used to the level of performance required.

Honda is very happy with the collaboration with AlphaTauri. "We have been working since 2018 and then we worked together and then we are very happy," Toyoharu Tanabe tells at the press conference. "Their car is showing good performance in this year and then, as a result, Pierre got the sixth position continuously in qualifying so some good races, some bad races, but we are very happy to work with AlphaTauri for both drivers."

Gasly and Red Bull

Gasly is doing well at AlphaTauri this season and is hoping for a second chance at Red Bull. The French driver performed poorly in his earlier period with the Austrians but has indicated in the media in recent weeks that he expects to be ready for the step up to the top team in Formula 1.
