Red Bull Racing are currently top of the world championship standings and will be hoping to do well at the Styrian Grand Prix as well. The Austrian racing team will do so with a surprisingly thin rear wing, according to Anthony Davidson at Sky Sports.

The expectations of Red Bull before the race weekend are high. Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez can increase their lead over Mercedes at their home circuit. Just like in France, the Austrian formation have choosen for a thin rear wing which had a positive effect on the race.

Davinson finds it very striking that Red Bull have choosen this in Austria as well. Although the team may benefit from this in the race, it is different in qualifying. "With three DRS zones in qualifying you don't have to deal with the drag. With no less than three zones, it doesn't make much difference on Saturday if you drive with a lot of downforce. It's interesting because more or less the same lap times are set with the thin and thick rear wings."

Verstappen is currently twelve points ahead of his rival Hamilton. Last weekend, the Dutch driver managed to overtake Hamilton to win the GP of France.
