In a preview of the French Grand Prix British Formula 1 journalist Peter Windsor states that the Red Bull, on the circuit where Mercedes normally calls the shots, has the advantage this weekend. He also reiterated the quality of the 2021 Red Bull and its star driver Max Verstappen.

"It looks as if Red Bull have got the slight edge," Windsor begins in the analysis on his YouTube channel. "The gap is much, much smaller but it’s impressive to see how quick that [Red Bull] now is in a straight line."

Windsor continued, stating he was impressed with the perfect control Verstappen had over the car. "Nonetheless, it’s impressive how much grip and balance Max had in sectors two and three, which are really demanding in terms of long corners, braking and turning in to slow corners", argues Windsor.

Dream package

Overall, Windsor sees the 2021 Red Bull as a dream package: "It all adds up to what we’ve been talking about all year, the high rake angle of the Red Bull, the maturing Honda engine. It’s really really impressive now, what a great package that is."
