Sergio Perez finished in fourth place at the Monaco GP. A good result, as the Mexican qualified only in ninth place. On the site of Motori Online the driver talks about the last race and looks ahead to the upcoming race in Baku.

After failed attempts by Alexander Albon and Pierre Gasly to get close to Max Verstappen 's times, it is now up to Perez to show what he can do. After five races, things aren't looking too bad for him, but there is room for improvement: "I'm looking forward to Baku and I hope we can set a good qualifying time because our race pace is one of the best on the grid," said the Mexican. "We need to improve on Saturday and then we will be well on our way. As for Monaco, I'm happy that we ended up with a good result, especially considering where we qualified. It was mentally very tough."

Red Bull must keep working hard

"As always in Monaco, it's difficult not to fly into the wall due to the fact that we're on the limit," he continued. "Above all, you have to know when to push and when not to." Perez is positive about the result achieved in Monaco and stresses that we are only early in the season. "Sunday's result is a big boost for the team and we want to continue like this, also because we are only at the fifth race of the season and there is still a long way to go. It doesn't matter where we are now, it only matters where we finish at the end of the year in Abu Dhabi. We have to keep our heads up and work hard, as we have done in the last few months," he concludes.

The battle with Mercedes is far from over. Red Bull will need to continue to develop the car throughout the season.
