With the point that Alfa Romeo took in Monaco, the team hopes to repeat that performance in Baku, also a street circuit. Drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi are seeing progress and head to Azerbaijan with confidence.

Stronger with every race

With 334 race starts, Kimi Raikkonen is the most experienced man on the grid. How long his career will last, no one knows, but in all likelihood Alfa Romeo will be the last team he drives for. Fighting for wins is no longer an option for the 2007 world champion.

Raikkonen does see the progression. "It's nice to see the team getting stronger with every race and I hope this weekend can be a good one for us," the Finn told a team press release. "Races in Baku can be very chaotic and it's always a good chance to get a good result if we do our job well. We have shown that we can fight with anyone in the midfield, so let's see how it goes."

Full of confidence going into Baku

Giovinazzi managed to secure the only point so far this season for Alfa Romeo, meaning the Italian will head to Azerbaijan full of confidence. "We are confident that we can transfer this form here and continue to reap the benefits of the progression we have made."

Moreover, the Italian feels very good in Baku. "It's one of my favourite circuits to race on, I love it. I have some very good memories here from my time in GP2 and I had a strong Saturday when I first came here in F1, in 2019. I had my first Q3 on that day and I'm keen to have a repeat of that performance this weekend."
