Vettel wants to build on his form: "We want to take Monaco momentum with us"

The Monaco weekend was a great success for Aston Martin F1 Team and Sebastian Vettel. Both drivers of the green car scored solid points and as a result, managed to climb up the constructors' rankings. Vettel knows that the upcoming weekend in Baku will also be a street circuit.

Still, he says in an interview with Speedweek.com, there are indeed differences. "We might go from one street circuit to another, but it's completely different. A completely different challenge. Unlike Monaco, tyre wear is an issue, but in Azerbaijan you can overtake", the German points out.

The German sees another essential part of the weekend in Azerbaijan besides the importance of qualifying. "Of course qualifying is also important in Baku. But even more important is to find a good vehicle balance that gives you the necessary downforce in the narrow sections and the necessary speed in the fast parts. A good race strategy is also elementary, although the team must remain extremely flexible, as there may be a safety car phase in Baku."

Continuing the form of Monaco GP

The fact that the Monaco Grand Prix was Aston Martin's best race and equally best weekend means that the team is making strides. Vettell wants to bring this form to Baku. "We could look forward to a great team result in Monaco. We want to take this momentum to Azerbaijan and build on the good performance in Monte Carlo."
